Hi, my name is

Jacob Klaponski

Why am I joining Hope on the Horizon?

Hey, my name is Jacob Klaponski. I first considered joining Hope on the Horizon last summer in the hopes of finding meaningful encounters and giving back to my community. However, an injury and family commitments took priority. This summer, the Lord has led me to embrace this adventure in His time. While being present to each encounter, I hope to search for meaning and purpose within spiritual and physical poverty. It is there. I believe hope can be found there as well.

I also believe that we receive the most when we give of ourselves. In my experience, this can at times sound like a word of advice and at others simply a shared moment of silent presence. Recently, I have been struck by the Catholic Street Missionary’s witness. Their patience, joy, and peace radiate softly to those they meet. If I can learn to imitate that in some small way, I would be very happy.

More about me!

I am a seminarian returning to the Seminary of Christ the King for my second year of philosophy studies in the fall. The oldest of six, I find joy in climbing mountains, all sports, family board games, thought-provoking movies (followed by good conversations), and attending daily Mass. I enjoy challenges and love asking hard questions with even harder answers.

After ten years of homeschooling, my last three years of high school found me cleaning barns, learning Latin, and growing alongside an incredible community in the minor seminary of Christ the King in Mission. Over the summers, I have been an amateur gardener, framer, and pins guy at a golf course. In my spare time, I play a little guitar and read a lot of Michael O’Brien’s novels. (I recommend Island of the World.)

Thank you for everything.

Let HOPE reign in each of our hearts!
