Hi, my name is
Catie Moric
Why am I joining Hope on the Horizon?
Hi friends,
I feel called to join Hope on the Horizon this summer, because over the past couple of years, I have seen such a depth of humanity in our friends struggling on the streets.
Such inspiring souls.
God has been so present in my interactions with these people, first through taking a course on Poverty and Addictions at the Door is Open, and more recently through becoming involved in outreach.
It is such a joy to be able to receive another person the way that we set out to at Catholic Street Missionaries, and to allow Jesus to pour out his love, through openness to Him and the other. I hope that through me, Jesus will awaken meaning where it seems lost.
I’ve also faced struggles in my own approach to street missionary work, and I hope that immersing myself in prayer, community, and outreach during this week will allow me to become more open to grace, in order to be at peace and to go out in the hope of the Resurrection.
More about me!
I come from a family of 6, along with my brother-in-law and two nieces. One was actually born yesterday, praise God!
I was called Benjamin Paul (Bee-Pee) in the womb, before my family discovered that I was female. And when they did, my brother cried.
I enjoy the outdoors, philosophy, Portugal, the Eucharist, and the baritone ukulele. I love to sing. I am also very fond of poetry and writing songs… as of a couple of months ago.
God bless you, and thanks so much for the prayers and support!
